Our family welcomed us the 7th may at 19:00. It was just a women who is fifty years old and her dogs. She has three dogs and she likes them a lot. She lives in a little house in Welling Way. We were four in this family: me, Manon Ceres, Samantha Mezzana and Line Bajard. This women is passionate about her dogs, she has educated and trained for competitions. Her name is Margaret Quinny-Fish. She hasn’t got husband and children, she lives alone with her dogs.
I loved the trip, it was very funny, we laughed a lot on the bus. I enjoyed when we were on the ferry, but it was short. The favorite museum which we visited was The British Museum. It was very interresting. The short film in 4D before getting in the London Eye was fantastic ! I had never seen film in 4D before the trip. The turn in The London Eye was great, the view was magnificent. I also loved shopping hours.
I do not like museums where there were paintings, it was very boring ! The weather was not very pleasant, but it was better the last two days.
I have not found the food was different between France and England. Only a little more spicy in England. In England students wear uniforms and not in France. In England cars drive on the left, which is impressive at the beginning.
Our family was not very good, it was not very nice and it was not very clean. But the food was very French it was not English but lunch was English speciality. And we did not communicate very much with the family, I enjoyed visiting London and its museum. I loved this trip in London with my friends. What I liked most was the big wheel you could see everything that was beautiful in london. I hated back in the family, I also hated walking all day and I found it too much museums visited in a day, and also when he had work in the museum ,The difference betwen France and England is that people do not eat the same way, the laws are not even French, the cars do not drive in the same direction. Similarly in France there are a lot more mac do implantedthe houses are not built in the same manner.
During these six days I met fantastic people, I learned many things and I had lots of fun. First, the family was wonderful with us. They were listening to us and they tried to do us favours. Pass a week with them was very good. Then I pass a very good trip with my friends. Spend a week together has brought us closer and decompress us before the exam. We had fun. It was great! I liked the first day in Canterbury even if we were all very tired because the night had been long and that the museum visit was not great. Finally we visited lot of museums all throughout the week, my favourite it's the Albert and Victoria museum because it was very interesting and the British Museum for its stunning sculptures and historical vestiges. But I didn't like the maritime museums, it was not very interesting I found that boring. The last day was really tiring and we were glad to return after a week like this. I loved London, it's a big city with plenty of things to discover but I hate the weather it was cold and not nice, driving on the left, that is really weird, I prefer to drive on the right. I think we spent a good week, we were very tired but it was very great to discover all these things and have done themtogether. It was a very good experience.
I was in England for a trip with the college La Fayette. The trip began the 6 May at 22h30 and finished the 12 May at 13h00. During this trip we took a ferry which was very big, we took the train and the bus.
The Friday we ate at the burger king. We were very hungry!! After we visited a museum. After the visit, we went to shopping. We met the family in the evening. In my family, I was with Mathilde, Katia and Naslie. We were very happy. The mother in the family was Shirley. She had one child. His name is Robbie. In the family we ate a little, but it was good. For lunch it wasn’t good.
The Saturday we visited museums everydays. It was very interesting but a little boring too.I learnt a lot about mummies,…We saw the stadium of Arsenal. We went shopping and I bought 2 T.-shirts, 1 jean, and thea.
The trip was very good but sometimes it was cold. I liked this trip and I would like to come in England a second time!!
We went on a journey in England from 6 till 12 May. During this week in London we visited the Brisish museum, natoinal gallery, Victoria & Albert, Tate Moderne and of the other ones. We were able to see monuments known as Big Ben, Tower Bridge, le Strand,Trafalgar, square, Whitehall, 10 Dowing Street, Westminster Abbey, the tower of London, St Katherine’s Docks, St Paul’s Cathedral, Buckinham Palace and the district of the business. We even went on theLondon eye. We had spare time to go shopping. The host family were the Wilsons, Jean is kind. I liked this trip very much. We took the boat for going and the eurotunnel to return.
The 7th of may 2010, almost all the 3rd of Lafayette school took the bus to pass about one week in England. We passed the first night in the bus and the next day we took the ferryboat. We arrived in Canterbury and visited a little museum. The evening, with Cécile, we met our reception family. The parents, Tracy and Mark Hepburn, have four children, Mickael, sixteen years, Teddy, nine years, Alfred, three years and Samuel who have one year. Tracy, the mother, was pregnant with a fifth child.
All the member of this family were really very nice. The elder spoke some french words with us and his brother was trying to imitate. We spoke alot with our family and dicsovered lots of things about them like they are fans of Chealsea football team, and about England. I have really appreciated my family and I will keep a good memory. The next day we took a stroll in London to see some monuments. Then we saw Buckingham palace, the palace of the english Queen, and have saw the Royal Guard. We visited the Natural History Museum, a beautiful museum and we saw dinosaurs skelton, a whale and many other things. After we visited Victoria & Albert museum, this museum is too a beautiful museum, there we saw Trajan's column. It was a nice day. The next day we saw the Emirates Stadium, the stadium of Arsenal. It was good. Then we visted the British museum a big museum but interesting. Later we saw the Chinese district, Soho, and a famous square, Trafalgar square. We visited the National Gallery but I didn't enjoy this museum. We did shopping and after returned in our family. The evening Chelsea was champion so it was the feast in our house and we watched « The Fabulous Destiny of Amélie Poulain ». The next day we took a stroll in the London eys, it was good. We saw Big Ben and visited the Tate modern, a museum of modern art, but I didn't enjoy very much this museum. We did shopping in Covent Garden. The evening we saw our family for the last evening. The next day, we went to Greenwich, visited an observatory and a maritime museum. The afternoon we took a little boat, saw Tower Bridge a very beautiful bridge and visited the tower of London. After we began to return to France. I love my trip, it was very interesting and good, we have been lucky to fall on the family that we had but I don't love really the english food. The English don't wear the same clothes as the french, don't eat the same food and eat sooner that the french. Watching TV and listening toradio in english is really strange but I have loved my trip.♥
MY TRIP IN LONDON BY LOUIS.My trip in London was formidable. Our host family was very welcoming and nice with us.With them we shared a very good moment because they were very interesting people. The only problem which we met with them was the food: on one hand their sandwiches that we had at midday were never in our envy and the specialities which theymade us eat in the evenings was not of the tastiest. During our trip we had a great deal of visits of museums or famous places of London. They were not all as interresting the ones as the others. The place whichI likes most was the visit of the stadium of arsenal: the emirates stadium. Everything in this stadium is magnificent, its structure but also big panels on the facades...I also appreciated in this trip the visits of the natural museum which has an impressive collection of animals especially its whales and the Tower of London which is very good. What I liked was that we were during the days with our friends, we had a lot of fun. The professors were very kind and very relaxed with us that sometimes amazed me. I also loved a lot the family especially their dog coconut which was very player with us. I did not too much like the dinner in Burger King and the dinners generally.I find that we had to walk a lotto visit that tired me enough. The differences with France are rather important.First of all for the food they do not eat similar things. But also because they eat at about 6 pm. I found that they looked almost all the time at the television.
The family where I was was very nice. It was a couple which accommodated already one Brazilian student. They had a house with a kitchen, a dining room, a bathroom and 3 rooms. The cooking which they gave us to eat seemed to me not typically English. The woman was of Indian origin and the man of English origin. They had no pets. The husband was a driver of boats and the woman I don't know. It is the husband who returned us in the evenings and the woman who brought us in the morning to the point of meeting. We visited many museums. The museum of history natural is the one that I preferred, I did not like very much the paintings and I did not like the museum of modern art. The food is good in England, the meals that the families made us for noon were not bad, contrary to certain pupils who did not have good food at noon. I loved well the London eye because we had a good view on London. The voyage in London was very good. although the bus trip is very tiring. I will return gladly to England. This trip is very good because it lets you spend a good time with friends and also with the teachers and we can discover a city in another country.
During my trip in England I passed five days in a host family with Mr and Mrs Lee About who lives in a district of the suburb of London:the district Eltham.
Lee and Martine were very nice with me, Louis and Simon they had a dog: coco and two cats who were nice. Their sandwiches which they gave us for lunch were not very good.
The visits whom we attended were interesting as British Museum which was very interesting or we were able to see objects which date from a long time in very good state.
I liked a lot the visits which were very instructive as well as the life in the English family with Louis and Simon who showed us well the differences with French life. We found the people much less put under stress. Tthen the journey by bus, we appreciated the trip, it was very funny !
What displeased me were sandwiches of noon and the suppers so I missed the home cooking…
The differences with France were the food, much more varied and better in France.
People in England are more open less put under stress I noticed and I found it very good.
To end I appreciated this journey which made me improve my English and gave me a lot of new culture.
At Eltham, I spent several days in a very nice family who received me and my friends very well. The food was good except for the picnic at noon but all was well. This trip allowed me to discover the English culture, cuisine, cultural heritage and landscapes. During these days, I visited the British Museum and many other museums. All are fascinating. I was also amazed by the visit of the queen's tower where I could see the jewels of the Queen which are all more beautiful the ones than the others. It impresses me so much wealth. This trip will forever burn in me because it was the best week of my life that I shared with my friends away from my family. The only negative thing is the duration of the journey of 11 hours on the bus and ferry or Eurotunnel, which has been a disaster because of anxiety attacks of many camarades. But this week has very few negative points and many memories.
